The NTU Communications Department would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2019 Diné Maker Nation Faire last Thursday in the NTU Wellness Center. The event had a total of 177 people who officially registered for the event, but we had individuals trickling in all day. It takes a lot of work to put on an event of this magnitude, and we can't thank you for your time. A big thank you to Mike McMillan, George LaFrance, and the NSSC for setting up and and breaking down, as well as our academic programs for showcasing their students work, including: Construction Tech, Welding, Business Admin, Diné Studies, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Carpentry, Baking, Culinary Arts, Animal Science, and Law Enforcement. We'd also like to thank our Child Care Center, Land Grant program, Dual Credit, KARMA, and our Office of Institutional Research and Reporting.

Dean Jerlynn Henry and the Student Services assisted a lot with the event in hosting lunch and running registration booths and tours. Admissions and Registration also hosted a College Info Day, providing valuable information to students visiting from Crownpoint High School and Middle School as well as St. Bonaventure Middle. Geri and Leah Coan were also extremely in every aspect of the event. (If we forgot anyone, apologies).

Events like this have an impact not only on student retention, but also in engaging community and prospective students. If NTU is to sustain its success, it must engage our various stakeholders in meaningful activity and collaboration. Events like the Diné Maker Nation Faire go a long way. We are currently tallying our event surveys, but we shall share them when they become available.
