NTU also provides students free access to NetTutor, which offers tutoring outside of normal business hours. Receive live tutoring from a tutor who is qualified to help you in a specific course subject. Tutoring for all levels of English Composition and Math is available 24 hours a day, every day.

Question Drop-Off: Submit a question and come back later for tutor feedback. Question responses are typically returned within one day.

Go to https://moodle.navajotech.edu/ or your SSO login.
Click on the “Login” link at the top right bar
Use your NTU ID and Password to login. Your course is located under ‘My Courses” on the main page, you may need to scroll down if you do not see your courses. You will not see any listings if you are not enrolled in any course.
Click on your course, and you should see the link to “NetTutor” inside the course.

ACCOMMODATIONS RESOURCES

The Disability Accommodations Specialist provides careful evaluation of the special needs program and accommodating needs of students with disabilities. The specialist conducts related counseling and support for the student, and offer professional accommodations and adjustments to program design and facilities required to serve the student guidance for staff and faculty on the accommodations and adjustments to program design and facilities required to serve the student appropriately.

The specialist coordinates with other NTU counselors to address and case staff clientele to monitor progress and/or make necessary adjustments in accommodations.
The specialist also conducts referrals to appropriate agencies as deemed necessary. NTU is committed to meeting the specific needs of students with disabilities and complies with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 (42 U.S.C.12102) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Virtually monitor accommodation agreements set forth for extra time a student requires to submit homework, quizzes, and tests and the use of recorded devices to submit recorded answers.
Establish contact information between instructors and students via laptop, phone text messages/pictures, fax, or by Zoom video platform.
Low-tech devices available for students with special needs utilizing, i.e., hearing aid, magnifying sheet, & voice recorder. Free applications (apps) like Screen Readers, Alexicom AAC, and Livescribe are available. Contact staff for access and download the apps. Otherwise, the use of YouTube videos to show how to download apps will suffice. Communicate through email and/or phone calls with students at all instructional sites: Chinle, Teec Nos Pos, Zuni and Kirtland and the Crownpoint main campus.

ONLINE STUDENT TRAINING

The E-Learning Department at Navajo Technical University is to provide quality instruction through electronic-based accredited courses to enable students to attain their educational goals. 1. Obtain your textbooks, most are available at the NTU Bookstore or through other online booksellers such as amazon. Refer to your syllabus for book information.

NetTutor Paper Center and Live Writing Tutor. Receive writing assistance by selecting “NetTutor Paper Center and Live Writing Tutor” from the list of subjects after logging in to NetTutor. Types of tutoring available through the Online Writing Center:

ONLINE COMPLAINT FORM

The University is committed to treating everyone fairly and respectfully. The University's policies that apply to students are published annually in the NTU student handbook, student e-learning policies, and in the NTU catalog. These publications are available on-line on the NTU website, www.navajotech.edu. In an instance of perceived violation of a University policy, a student may file a complaint.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Online Registration
For a visual on how to registrar for a class using our online registration system “MyNTU”, download our registration documentation. Currently, NTU has one fully online program MS/MIS, and we are working toward creating more online programs. We do offer online courses that can apply to your program of study.

Step 1: Visit our Course Schedule at all sites and online

Step 2: Browse available courses

Step 3: Select a course(s) or a Program of Study if you are a new student

Identify the course(s) in which you would like to enroll. You can write the course number, section, and name on a sheet of paper. And login into My.NTU, click on the course name to learn more information such as course description, dates, times, room location, instructor, tuition, etc. (refer to the MyNTU download instruction for more information).

Note: If you have any holds on your account due to payment, prerequisites, or other restrictions, you will need to speak with an advisor. You can call ADD NAME, EMAIL, PHONE to help you select your course.

NOTE: If you are a new student, you will need to schedule a Placement Testing. Please call 505.387.7470 to speak with an advisor.

What if I am a distance student?
Although we do not offer the Accuplacer online, we do offer the exam at our campus branch sites, Teec Nos Pos (928.882.3164) and Chinle (928.882.3135). Please call the appropriate site to schedule an appointment.

Step 4: Admissions, add a course to your schedule

New Students, select a program of study and download the program checklist. Checklist can be found on the NTU website for each Certificates and Degree Programs. NTU Catalog Electronic version available online at www.navajotech.edu.

Complete Admission Application (Online Application or paper application)

Submit copy of Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)
Submit official high school transcript or GED Scores
Transfer Student: Submit official college transcript

Once application is completed you will receive an Acceptance Letter with your ID Number.

Out-of-state tuition does not apply since tuition at NTU is based on whether or not a student is an enrolled member of a federally recognized Indian tribe or not.

Therefore tuition is based on number of credit hours up to full time status.

Since books and supply costs vary from program to program and year to year, costs for books and supplies are calculated separately from tuition rates but still apply as part of the total coast of attendance.

On-Line Course Fee: $35.00 fee for each on-line course to cover support service (i.e., tutoring and on-line learning tools).

Step 6: New Student Orientation

You can attend on campus orientation or online. Student access to the orientation: https://navajotech.goorientation.com.

The online orientation includes pertinent information such as academic studies, support services, policies & safety, Title IX, student life, and paying for college.

When you complete the online orientation, you will receive an email with a Certificate of Completion. It may also be available to print from the orientation platform, itself. You will always have access to these resources if you need to refer back to the services we offer at NTU. For more information contact E Learning Director Coleen Arviso at ccarviso@navajotech.edu.

1.) Student Skyhawk email. All students are required to use their skyhawk email for student verification.

Enter your newly created NTU Skyhawk email. (Enter the whole address: yourusername@student.navajotech.edu).
Enter your one-time password. You will be prompt to change your password. (Only onetime setup)

2.)My.NTU is used for registering for registration, courses, viewing your course schedule, billing, financial aid, unofficial transcripts, and grades.

Use your NTU ID and Password
You should now be logged in. If you got a login error, please double-check our password and NTU ID. If you cannot log in to Moodle, please click on Forgotten your username or password to reset your password. Your courses are located under "My Courses" in the main page, you may need to scroll down if you do not see your course. You will not see any listings if you are not enrolled in any courses.

NOTE: NTU Email Account/My NTU (505) 488-8430 (See IT Department to get this set up) or email IT at its@navajotech.edu. Ensure you use a meaningful subject such as: New Student – Need NTU Accounts setup. Include your Full name, NTU ID, and copy of your course schedule.

Step 8: Purchase your Books

The NTU Bookstore maintains a complete inventory of college textbooks and school supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils, folders and other items.

HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Each Semester students may begin charging books to their accounts. Class schedules can also be faxed to the bookstore at 505.387.7377 in order to reserve the textbooks that are needed.

Step 9: Complete your Registration

Note: Some courses require an approval. If you have Approvals needed, your registration will not process until we have looked at your registration and approved it. Administrators review pending registrations every day. You are not registered in the selected course(s), until you get a confirmation e-mail from us or until you can see your courses listed on your schedule in MyNTU.

Once you complete the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from the NTU Registrar confirming your course registration(s). If you do not receive a confirmation within 24 hours, please call us at 505.387.4726.

ONLINE TRANSCRIPTS REQUEST

To order an official transcript(s), please visit the Parchment website. The website will walk you through placing in order, including your delivery options and fees. You can order as many transcripts as you like in a single session. A processing fee will be charged per recipient. No official transcript will be released if the student owes any outstanding obligations to the university until it has been paid.

PAYING FOR SCHOOL – FINANCIAL AID

The office of Financial Aid Office assists students and their families by providing appropriate financial resources through scholarships and grants, and other aid for all qualified current and prospective students.

Functions:

Assists students to complete FAFSA, NN Scholarship, and other financial aid forms.
Provide information to students on their financial aid status.
Review, determine eligibility, and award students according to appropriate funding policy, rules, and regulations (i.e. Department of Education, Navajo Nation, New Mexico, etc.)
Conduct financial aid workshops to potential, new, and continuing students and their families.
Coordinate with Finance Office regarding processing and awarding of students.
Submission of reports as required per funding agency

ENROLLMENT SERVICES – ADMISSIONS & REGISTRATION

REGISTRAR'S OFFICE
The Registrar processes registration requests, schedules classes and maintains class lists, enforces the rules for entering or leaving classes, and keeps a permanent record of grades and marks.

ADMISSION'S OFFICE
The Admission staff processes admission applications for the undergraduate, graduate, dual credit, and continuing education programs.

DUAL CREDIT PROGRAM
The Dual Credit program is a program that provides high school students with an opportunity to take college level courses while still in high school.

FINANCIAL AID OFFICE
The office of Financial Aid Office assists students and their families by providing appropriate financial resources through scholarships and grants, and other aid for all qualified current and prospective students.

RECRUITMENT & RETENTION
The Recruitment Office provides

Advocate on behalf of Navajo Technical University (NTU) by sharing what NTU has to offer.
Coordinate with Chinle Campus Recruiter – Jarvis Draper
Attend community events and activities to inform the public on NTU Masters, Bachelors, Associate and Certificate programs, student services, residential services, transportation, childcare and more.
Assist academic and program advisors with student retention activities.
Coordinate with internal departments to develop recruitment and retention plans.
